SQUASH - UCHIKI KURI
Great Winter squash to grow for shorter seasons! Has great flavor and excellent winter storage quality. Semi-bush growth habit makes it great for growing in raised beds or in smaller garden areas.
How to Grow: Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before your last frost date or plant out when danger of frost has past and the soil is warm.
Planting Depth and Spacing: 1/2'' to 1" deep. 24-36 inches between plants with 48-60 inches row spacing. If you are planting by seed plant two seeds and keep the strongest if they both germinate.
Germination: 7-14 days
Height and Spread at Maturity: 9 to 18 inches tall, 10 to 15 feet wide (vine length)
Plant in full sun in nutrient-rich soil since squash are hungry feeders. Water as needed. Harvest when butternut forms a hard skin if you want to store.
DAYS TO MATURITY: 85
SEEDS PER PKG: 10
