It's always great to learn and "grow" in gardening every year - here are some helpful tips we've used and picked up growing vegetables. DO'S AND DON'TS IN THE GARDEN 1.   Today wanted to share a very successful trial we had of Tasty Green Cucumbers last year! This variety was recommended several times by a local gardener. I started the plants indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost date - planted them out and they started growing fast! The cucumbers were good sized, sweet and firm and the plants stayed disease free and green the whole summer even through hot 39 degrees+ temperatures till frost which I haven't seen in a cucumber. SEED Spotlight! This Week's Spotlight is Early Prolific Butternut Squash! This is an extremely early butternut squash at 82 days it is perfect for short seasons. Productive and Uniform - large, medium or small this squash has good form! This variety is also a semi bush so perfect for smaller spaces vs other regular squash with long vines.
